Palestinians have grown olive trees for hundreds of years, and the crop is a symbol of national identity. Because of the ongoing war with Israel, many Palestinians are now exiled from their olive groves, and travel between regions can be difficult to impossible. Many groves have also been vandalized or destroyed as acts of war. And like other farmers around the world they cannot get fair prices for their produce.
